Ronald McDonald House

· leukemia

I have a place to stay now! I started this post on the 29th, but my energy has been pretty low so sorry for the delay.

These last few days have been pretty stressful. Every chemo day I’ve had so far, we’ve had to move out of the hotel room that morning. We were on our third hotel room before some nice people managed to get us a spot at the Ronald McDonald House.

It’s really reassuring to be able to see the hospital outside my window—I’m really fragile right now and being so close is nice.

A lot of people seem to be worried that I’m bored—but it’s quite the opposite. In fact, it seems like I have even more things to do like replying to emails, writing updates, and trying to rearrange schoolwork. So don’t worry—I don’t see myself coming even close to being bored!

To all the people asking how I’m doing in emails and messages, my energy level is pretty low with the chemo. It’s a little bit of a chore to respond to every message, so I’m really sorry if there’s a large delay where you’re expecting an email from me. I appreciate the kind wishes though, and if I don’t get back to you then I hope you can accept this post as a response.

My next procedure is on Friday. I’m having a lumbar puncture and a bone marrow biopsy. In the best case scenario, the results would let me go back home! With my type of leukemia, this wouldn’t be the most likely case, but there is that hope. I guess we’ll see.
