I’m finally home!

This past two weeks has really been a roller coaster. Suffice it to say that now I get to mostly live at home, and I only have to go to the hospital a few times a week for treatments.

My next treatment is on Friday—I’m having a lumbar puncture and receiving a bunch of drugs. I have to leave at 6 in the morning to get there in time, then I’m staying at the hospital for one night. Unfortunately, I have another treatment on Canada Day.

I’ve lost most of my hair, and it’s really falling out fast now. It’s kind of like having a pet—I just have to keep cleaning up the hair that gets everywhere. At least it doesn’t hurt when it falls out. At least I won’t have to wash or comb it when I’m bald!

My grandparents visited today and brought a whole bunch of my favourite foods. Lately, I haven’t felt like eating much, but once I start then I can eat. I find that I usually feel better after eating, even though I don’t feel good before. I’m learning a lot about willpower.

Speaking of which, I can now walk and take the stairs. It’s hard, but getting easier. The steroid they had me on for the first month is starting to wear off, and I can use my muscles again. Getting up is still hard, but every day it gets easier. I just have to muster up the willpower and do it.

Thank you again too everyone for the support. I apologize again to people who I haven’t responded to—today has been the best I’ve felt in a while, and so I took the opportunity to update the blog here.
